Marcus Bachmann

Marcus Bachmann
I have grown weary of American politics. As a matter of fact, I have grown weary of America. It seems to have transformed itself from a vibrant, creative source of intellectual growth into a dark hole of fundamentalist religious dogma, antithetical to any person of curiosity and possessed of a probing, inquisitive mind. This has become so frightfully evident with the election of Barack Obama, which caused a feeding frenzy of anti-intellectualism. It is now the American credo that ignorance equals honesty. The more ignorant you are, the more honest you must be. I feel that national millstone around my neck. I live in a country that holds ignorance in high esteem. Larry The Cable Guy is a model for our children. “See? See how ignorant he is? He’s got to be an honest guy.”  I give no credence to the opinions of our media that claim that Sarah and Michele  are being used by others to forward a political/social agenda. When either of them make outrageously ignorant statements the country shrugs it off by stating that “they were just being themselves.” What? If your child answered all the questions on his/her history test wrong would.
